Comments:

Molefoam is thicker than moleskin, and much more effective. It is not designed to go OVER blisters, but to be cut like a donut, to go AROUND them. It really relieves pressure on a hot spot or blister this way. You have to buy those little collapsable scissors to cut the foam with. Cut a rectangle first, big enough to fit around the blister, then the donut hole in the middle, sized to just avoid the blister, sick it down to your foot or toe, then wrap with adhesive first aid tape. This wrap will last about a week. I learned this trick from a Yosemite park ranger many years ago. Keep molefoam, the scissors and a roll of tape in your first aid kit: Foolproof for blisters! I've looked for molefoam in the local drug stores, but no luck. I'm very relieved to find it here at REI. Thank you!

Comments:

This stuff has really come in handy for me, but I didn't originally realize how much thicker this is than regular moleskin. As such, I ended up getting blisters on my toes after putting these on heel blisters, because the thickness of the foam pushed my feet so far forward in my shoes. Just something to keep in mind. It only was problematic when hiking back down a mountain, when your toes normally cram into the front anyway. Also, do not EVER try to take this stuff off before it's ready to fall off on its own. I made my blisters much worse by forcing these pads off when I got done with my hike. That's some serious glue and it took some serious chunks of skin with it. TMI, I know.
